Rats are difficult to control, and many households and businesses in the Netherlands are plagued by them. A standard pest control company will visit your property and set out electric traps or rat cages. In the best-case scenario, they’ll also install barriers. They’ll then investigate where the rats might be gaining access to your basement or crawl space and seal any holes.

And coming into contact with feces or areas where rats have been can lead to the transmission of parasites, bacteria, and diseases—such as Weil’s disease. Do-It-Yourself Kit for Rat Control
At 12BClean, we can help in two ways. If you want to get rid of rats on your own, we’ll put together a do-it-yourself kit for you. That kit always includes advice on:
- Potential health risks
- Personal Protective Equipment
- Deployment and Use of (Electric) Trapping Cages and Rat Traps
- Cleaning and Deodorizing
- In addition, we provide (electric) trap cages and/or rat crates as needed, as well as personal protective equipment suitable for this job.
Rat Extermination Service: Removal, Cleaning, and Prevention Measures
Would you rather outsource this dirty work? Then we’ll come by and give you a quote. Every situation is different. For example, in cramped crawl spaces, we always bring an oxygen meter. By assessing the situation first, we know exactly what we need to get the job done. And if things don’t go as planned? The quoted price will still apply.
Agree with the price? Then we’ll chase the rats away (sometimes literally!) and clean up nesting material and other debris (such as damaged insulation) and dispose of the waste. We’ll also check that all holes are sealed and install barriers if necessary. If the rats have already gotten into your home, we’ll also provide electric traps or rat cages.
