12B Clean
At 12B Clean, we don’t shy away from anything—and I mean absolutely anything—when it comes to cleaning. Our three divisions are staffed by intelligent and highly trained people who know exactly what is expected of them.
The Masters
"Verzamelwoede" is the Dutch word for hoarding. Extreme hoarders are people who have tremendous difficulty getting rid of their belongings and sometimes neglect themselves and their surroundings.
Some people collect all sorts of things, such as books, magazines, and the daily newspaper for years on end. This results in enormous piles of paper and massive dust traps. Hoarding also involves neglect of the collector and his or her home. In some cases, household trash hasn’t been thrown out for months or years, and the home isn’t cleaned. As a result, poor hygiene can lead to health problems and foul odors, pests are attracted to the trash, and damage to the home occurs.
Hoarding is usually caused by a mental disorder. Hoarding treatment is a specialized form of support that we at 12B Clean are happy to provide.
Decluttering and cleaning the house is an emotionally taxing process for a hoarder. Thoroughly clearing out the house can cause serious mental distress. That is why it is always wise to seek mental health counseling.
Depending on the situation, we work either together with the resident and the care provider or independently. We understand that the resident may feel embarrassed about his or her circumstances. That is why we can take various steps to ensure a discreet approach. For example, by arriving in a plain car or van (without a company name), avoiding conversations with neighbors, and shielding the home as much as possible.
We understand that people with a compulsive hoarding disorder don’t see their belongings as junk or trash and actually don’t want to get rid of them at all. That’s why we work together with social workers to ensure the process of decluttering and cleaning goes as smoothly as possible and to make the home livable and hygienic.
Because in extremely dirty areas, contaminants such as human and animal feces are classified as biohazards, our team always works in protective clothing and wears eye protection and masks.
